There’s quite a few big Office 365 and SharePoint events coming up later this year, after Ignite. I am very proud and honoured to be speaking and presenting at some of these events.
Update 27 May 2015: New engagements added
SharePoint Saturday Netherlands – 6 June 2015
SharePoint administrators, end users, architects, developers, and other professionals that work with Microsoft SharePoint Technologies will meet for the 4th SPS Netherlands event on June 6th at the Van der Valk Hotel located at Vianen.
My session will be about how to secure your data in Office 365:
Microsoft says they are “committed to ensuring secure experiences with Office 365 across devices and platforms”. In this session I will show you how to secure your data in Office 365 and how to make sure that companies can follow their compliancy and security rules and regulations when using Office 365. Topics that will be covered are: sharing content, data encryption, message encryption, information rights management, and multi-factor authentication. I will show you how that works from the end-user perspective (what do they need to do to make this work, what is the impact for them?), and what you need to do from an IT Pro’s perspective to make this work.
Audience: End-user / IT Pro – level 200
SharePoint Saturday EMEA Online – 13 June 2015
SPS Events and IT Unity are proud to announce SPS UNITY EMEA on 13 June 2015. This SharePoint Saturday online will feature over a dozen sessions scheduled for the European, Middle Eastern, and African communities.
My session here will be about how to secure your data in Office 365. More information can be found here: www.unityconnect.com/sps
SharePoint Saturday Florence – 20 June 2015
SharePoint administrators, end users, architects, developers, and other professionals that work with Microsoft SharePoint Technologies will meet for the 1st SPS Events Florence event on 20th of June 2015 at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo located at Lungarno del Tempio, 44, 50121, Firenze – Italy.
On this event I’ll be speaking about current Yammer integration options in SharePoint, both for SharePoint Online and on-premises. Microsoft has announced the discontinuation of the Yammer App for SharePoint earlier this year, and Yammer Embed is now the way to go forward. I’ll demonstrate various scenarios, from showing Yammer feeds, to engage users in published content, to building communities in SharePoint together with Yammer. And how can Yammer support your collaboration environment? When do we switch to Yammer and when do we stay in SharePoint? Both platforms are amazing and each has its own powerful possibilities. In this session I hope to show you how 1+1=3.
SPBiz Conference – 17-18 June 2015
SPBiz is a free and online conference with one purpose: to bring the benefits of SharePoint business expertise to your device, wherever you are.
On SPBiz will be presenting two sessions:
Yammer integration options for SharePoint – In this session I will talk about current Yammer integration options in SharePoint, both for SharePoint Online and on-premises. I’ll demonstrate various scenarios, from showing Yammer feeds, to engage users in published content, to building communities in SharePoint together with Yammer.
Office 365 Video – Why and How? – In this session I will talk about Office 365 Video, one of the latest additions to the Office 365 platform. Microsoft calls it the first of their “NextGen” portals: Intelligent, Social, Mobile, and Ready-to-go. But why should you start using it? And how does it work?
UnityConnect 2015 – 12-14 October 2015
Unity Connect (formerly SharePoint Connect) returns to Amsterdam, bigger and better in 2015! Building on a brilliant, 6-year history, Unity Connect brings together the SharePoint, Office 365, and Azure communities with the best and brightest European and international experts to give you what you need to succeed with these technologies, on-premises, in the cloud, and every hybrid scenario in between.
On UnityConnect I’ll be hosting a 20-minute power session:
Three powerful Yammer Embed examples – In March this year Microsoft officially announced the end-of-life of the Microsoft Yammer App and this app is no longer available in the Office Store since 15 September 2015. Yammer Embed is now officially the way to integrate Yammer with SharePoint. In this 20-minute power session I will show three great examples of how to use Yammer Embed to make SharePoint a true social collaboration platform. We will use Yammer Embed for showing Yammer feeds, to engage users in published content, and to build communities in SharePoint.
European SharePoint Conference 2015 – 9-12 November 2015
If you want a comprehensive breakdown of the latest innovations in SharePoint and Office 365 technologies including the inside scoop on SharePoint 2016 and Office 365 Next Gen Portals as well as practical, actionable advice on how to leverage SharePoint 2013 to the best of your ability then European SharePoint Conference 2015 is a must in your calendar!
On the European SharePoint Conference I’ll be presenting a break-out session about Office 365 Video:
Office 365 Video – Why and How? – In this session I will talk about Office 365 Video, one of the latest additions to the Office 365 platform. Microsoft calls it the first of their “NextGen” portals: Intelligent, Social, Mobile, and Ready-to-go. But why should you start using it? And how does it work? I’ll talk a little bit about the technical architecture behind Office 365 Video, how it uses Azure Media Services, how it leverages already existing Office 365 technologies like Yammer and Office Graph, and what that means for your environment. But mostly I’ll be demonstrating how it can really add value to your social collaboration environment. I’ll discuss some real-world scenarios, we have already encountered and implemented. And how you can use Office 365 Video to create your own corporate internal video channels, both from the mobile and web perspective. Learn what Office 365 Video can mean for your social collaboration environment. Why should you start using Office 365 Video and how does it work? Get inspired by the samples and demos in this presentation, and start building your own internal video portal.
All in all it’s going to be a great year and I hope to see you at one or more of the great events!
